What are the advantages of Suspensys air suspensions?

Models are indicated for the transport of sensitive loads and that need greater protection

12/06/2019

Suspensions are systems that act as mechanical filters to absorb the impacts and vibrations resulting from the vehicle's contact with the ground. The main function of these components is to provide comfort and safety while running. Therefore, it is extremely important to evaluate the suspension system appropriate to the type of operation it will be intended for, as the choice will have a direct impact on the vehicle's performance and its operating cost.

A good suspension should provide the vehicle with stability during the ride, resisting the starting and braking torques, and efforts when cornering. It must also present a behavior as closely as possible both when the vehicle is loaded and when it is unloaded.

Most commercial vehicles use spring bundles as elastic elements to act as a filter to absorb impacts and vibrations. However, for commercial vehicles intended for the transportation of cargo and passengers, such as trucks, buses or semi-trailers, air suspensions can be an excellent option, with performance superior to the traditionally used options.

Also known as “air suspensions”, pneumatic suspensions are more robust and easier to maintain than mechanical suspensions, for example, as they have a superior capacity to absorb impacts.

Check out the main characteristics of pneumatic suspensions:

* Superior ability to absorb impacts and vibrations, providing a smoother and more uniform ride;

* Maintenance of a constant working height regardless of whether or not the vehicle is traveling at full load, in addition to a lower noise level, a lower operating cost and a shorter downtime for maintenance;

* They are considered Road Friendly, because, in the same way that they absorb impacts, they transmit to the pavement more smoothly the forces resulting from the vehicle loading.

Pneumatic suspensions are indicated, mainly, for the transport of sensitive loads and that need greater protection, as passengers, in the case of buses; or fragile loads, such as electronics, appliances, beverages and live loads in the case of cargo vehicles. This does not prevent them from being applied to equipment subjected to severe operating conditions, such as the transportation of logs from forest areas, for example. The robustness and superior durability of some models of air suspensions have been changing the current thinking among large logistics operators who have realized the benefit compared to traditional mechanical suspensions.

Suspensys suspensions have simple maintenance and high durability

Suspensys Pneumatic suspensions stand out for their superior performance, high strength and high durability. They are simple to maintain and, with a wide network of distributors, their spare parts are easy to obtain. They are developed with advanced engineering resources, undergoing rigorous approval tests in their own testing field that simulates the situations that our customers experience daily on the roads.

For the suspension line for trucks, the FULL AIR and AIRLINK NG lines stand out, with optimized supports cast in special alloys, bringing greater lightness without losing the necessary strength that the market requires. These models offer the possibility of using electronic systems to control the height and leveling of the vehicle, assisting the driver in operations of the docking and kneeling types.

In the line of suspensions for semi-trailers, TAS stands out, the most recent Suspensys air suspension. Developed to provide greater resistance and durability, the novelty makes maintenance simpler and more efficient. TAS also has less weight and has in the design of its arms, combined with the new tri-functional bushings, a durability almost twice that of the main competitors in the Brazilian market. This model is also equipped with the exclusive Suspensys radial hub, a product that provides greater durability for the drum and the brake assembly through the more efficient dissipation of the heat generated during braking. In the end, it is important to remember that there are no weak or bad suspensions.

 What is necessary to understand is the real need for the operation and to assess which type of suspension is most suitable for it, carefully analyzing the pros and cons of each configuration.
